These terms cover the use of this website and the work we carry out for you. They are written to be read, not to hide anything. If something here is unclear, call and ask.
By using this website, requesting a quote, or booking work with Southern Heating and Cooling, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or book work with us.
These terms apply alongside our privacy policy and cookie policy. Where we give you a separate written quote, proposal, or service agreement for a particular job, that document governs that job and these terms fill in anything it does not cover.
02
Who we are
Southern Heating and Cooling is a heating and air conditioning contractor based at 710 Yates Road, Junction City, KY 40440. In these terms, we, us, and our mean Southern Heating and Cooling. You and your mean the person using this site or engaging us to carry out work.
03
Use of this website
This website is provided for information and to let you contact us. The content is general guidance about heating and cooling systems. It is not a diagnosis of your system and it is not a substitute for having somebody look at it.
When using this site, you agree not to
Use it for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any system connected to it
Interfere with its operation, or introduce anything harmful to it
Copy, scrape, or republish its content without our written permission
Submit false information through a form, or use somebody else's details
04
Where we work
We serve Junction City and the surrounding towns and counties described on this site. Listing a town does not guarantee availability on a given day, and we may decline work that falls outside what we can properly cover or safely carry out.
Where a town is a longer drive, arrival times are given honestly on the phone. Any trip charge that applies is told to you before the appointment is booked.

Quotes, estimates, and pricing
Prices given over the phone or by message before we have seen the system are estimates based on what you have described. A firm price is given once we have inspected the equipment.
Written quotes are valid for the period stated on them. Where no period is stated, treat the quote as valid for thirty days, since equipment and material costs move.
If we find something during the work that changes the scope or the price, we will stop and tell you before continuing. You will not receive an invoice for work you did not approve.
Quote validity period and the diagnostic fee amount both need confirming.

Appointments and cancellation
Appointment times are given as accurately as we can. Emergency calls, weather, and jobs that turn out to be larger than expected can move a schedule, and we will contact you if your appointment is affected.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as early as you reasonably can so the slot can be given to somebody else. Someone aged eighteen or over must be present at the property for the appointment unless we have agreed otherwise in advance.
Any cancellation notice period or missed appointment fee needs confirming before this section is published.
07
Access and site conditions
You are responsible for giving us safe and reasonable access to the equipment, and for telling us about anything on the property that affects safety, such as pets, hazards, or restricted areas.
Where access is blocked, unsafe, or the area around the equipment has to be cleared before we can work, we may need to reschedule, and time spent may be chargeable.
We take care in your property. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, or for damage arising from conditions we could not reasonably have known about.

Payment
Payment is due on the terms stated on your invoice or quote. We accept the payment methods listed on the payment options page of this site.
For replacements and larger installations, a deposit may be required before equipment is ordered. Equipment remains our property until the invoice for it has been paid in full.
Payment terms, deposit percentage, and any late payment charge all need confirming.

Warranties
Equipment we install carries the manufacturer's warranty, which is provided by the manufacturer on its own terms and usually depends on the system being registered and maintained.
Our own labour warranty covers the workmanship on what we install or repair for the period stated on your invoice or agreement.
Warranties do not cover
Damage from misuse, accident, weather events, power surges, or work carried out by others
Failures caused by lack of maintenance, or by running the system with a blocked or missing filter
Parts we did not supply, or systems we were not asked to install
Consumables and routine items such as filters
Labour warranty length on repairs and on installations needs confirming.

Emergency and after hours work
Emergency calls are answered around the clock, six days a week. Because of travel distances across our service area, an honest arrival time is given on the phone rather than a promised response window.
Where an after hours or weekend rate applies, you are told before we are dispatched, not afterwards.
The closed day and the after hours rate both need confirming and stating plainly here.
11
Permits, codes, and existing systems
Where a job requires permits or inspection, we will tell you and handle what is ours to handle. Work is carried out to the applicable codes in force at the time.
Older properties and previously installed systems sometimes contain work that does not meet current code. We will point out what we find, but bringing unrelated existing work up to current standards is a separate job and a separate price.
12
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising from the work or from your use of this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, loss of use, or spoilage of goods, arising from equipment failure or delay.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13
Website content and intellectual property
The text, photographs, logo, and design of this site belong to us or are used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our written consent.
Photographs may include stock imagery used to illustrate the type of work described. Where an image shows a specific job of ours, it is described as such.
Reviews shown on this site are reproduced from public platforms as they were written. We do not edit the wording of a review.
14
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, including manufacturers, review platforms, and financing providers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their products, or their terms.
15
Calls, texts, and consent
When you give us your phone number, you agree that we may contact you about your enquiry or your job by phone or text message. Marketing messages are only sent where you have agreed to them, and agreeing is never a condition of buying anything.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP or telling us on the phone. Message and data rates may apply. How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Any dispute arising from them or from the work will be handled in the courts of Boyle County, Kentucky.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of them continue to apply.
Venue and whether any dispute resolution step comes first should be confirmed by an attorney.
17
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Work already booked is governed by the terms in place when it was booked.

Ask before the job, not after
If you want something in these terms explained, or you disagree with part of it before booking work, call us. We would rather sort it out before the job than after.
